The White 1370 tractor is a versatile machine that shares similarities with the 2-60 White and 1365 Oliver tractors, both of which are equipped with a 4-cylinder Fiat engine. To check the hydraulic fluid level for the 3-point hitch (3PH) on the White 1370 tractor, follow these steps:
Locate the dipstick: The dipstick for the transmission and hydraulic system is situated on top of the transmission housing near the parking brake lever.
Remove the dipstick: The dipstick has a ring on the top, allowing you to pull it out for inspection.
Check the fluid level: With the dipstick removed, wipe it clean with a rag or paper towel. Reinsert the dipstick all the way back into the dipstick tube.
Pull out the dipstick again: Carefully pull out the dipstick once more to read the fluid level. It will have markings or indicators on it to show the minimum and maximum fluid levels.
Check the fluid color and condition: While you have the dipstick out, also inspect the color and condition of the hydraulic fluid. It should typically be a clean and clear reddish or amber color. If it appears dirty or has an unusual color, it might be time to change the hydraulic fluid.
Refill if necessary: If the fluid level is below the minimum mark on the dipstick, you'll need to add hydraulic fluid. To do this, locate the fill plug on top of the transmission housing near the PTO (Power Take-Off) clutch lever. This plug will need to be removed to add fluid. Use the appropriate hydraulic fluid recommended for your tractor and refill until it reaches the correct level on the dipstick.
Reinstall the dipstick and fill plug: After adding or adjusting the hydraulic fluid level, make sure the dipstick is securely in place, and the fill plug is tightened.
Remember to consult your tractor's manual for specific details regarding the type of hydraulic fluid to use, as well as any other maintenance instructions or recommendations. This procedure should help you check and maintain the hydraulic fluid level on your White 1370 tractor's 3-point hitch system.
